Don't drink the Kool-Aid

Woo hoo Super Bowl. I guess it's starting soon. I'm wasting time, waiting for Jeremy to finish up his mini-tech-rehearsal. He's on run crew/playing a dead body in our show, and even though today's supposed to be our day off, he got called in to run scene changes. These are not your average, everyday scene changes, oooohhhh noooo - the 3 crew members are costumed as FBI agents and run around with flashlights, doing their own little scenes and everything. All from the mind of our director Martin. It's quite fun - there are MAJOR costume changes between some scenes, as 6 actors play 18 roles - plus the show has 18 different locations - so this is a great way to fill time. And I'm glad J gets to be a part of it. I like having him around, of course, and he also gets to know the theater and the people really well. Always a good thing.

He's mad he's missing the first hour or so of the SB. WHAT? you say - how did MELANIE end up with someone who watches FOOTBALL - and CARES?? After all that Cornhusker rebellion she cultivated...He's not major sporty boy or anything - but he IS from North Carolina, and the Panthers apparently need the support.

Ginger's last couple entries are great. She has a lot to say about creepy self-help cults that I think needs to be heard (I seem to fit perfectly into the demographic that these people prey on - young, insecure, poor artist - so I'm fortifying myself against any potential atttack), and her story about Tim Robbins ROCKS. Notice how I send you to her blog to distract from the dearth of interesting topics on my diary. Pretty slick, huh?

Our show opens on Friday - today was our day off. We're in tech madness, haven't run the show in several days. I haven't been doing much acting this week, which is a little scary. It being a comedy, we reeeeeally need an audience. I feel like what I'm doing is very technical, so I'm not sure how good it is yet - once I have a chance to get more comfortable and relax into it, I think it'll turn out well. Fortunately the family's not coming for a few weeks - but they ARE indeed coming! Yay! I've been anxious to have them see something here - I think they'll really dig this company's work. I'm proud of it.

I'm off - parties to go to, I guess...ahh football...ahh Americana.....
