My jacket - is AMAZING

I think I said that like 20 times yesterday (a majority of them to Jeremy - sorry about that, I was excited!!)...

I had a pretty fabulous day off yesterday, spent in the usually rather bleak town of Wilkes-Barre, PA. I woke up around 11am, groggy, and made plans in my head to work out at the Y, do a little Christmas shopping, maybe watch a movie (have great stuff from Netflix rotting away on my couch!!), etc etc. Then Will called, inviting me to come with he and Ellen to W-B to "go to the thrift store and hang out". I almost didn't go - I have this thing about plans: when I have something set in my head, I sometimes get attached to it and don't want to change. Plus I just liked the idea of having the day to myself, to do whatever I wanted. And I think I'm a little addicted to exercise (not quite enough, but a little - I definitely want to change my body for the better). Anyway...I decided to go after all (obviously) and I'm SOOOOO glad I did. I had a fun day, they're good peeps.

And the jacket alone was worth it. From the W-B Salvation Army: a real Wilson's leather jacket, about knee-length, fitted with cool seams, burgundy, sort of 70s style, totally hot. I adore it. And only $25 - not bad for the quality! I'm a sucker for cool jackets, and the glory of this one is second only to the flowered beauty that I've worn CONSTANTLY for about 3 or 4 years. Ahhh lovely. Can't quite wear it in the winter, it's not that thick and I can't wear anything think under it, but believe me, I'll be looking for any and all opportunities to whip this one out.

Also got a set of watercolors, brushes, a palette, and paper. I'm gonna try to make some Christmas cards - I refuse to buy any this year, and I'm feeling more inspired to create these days. Plus I did have one watercolor lesson this summer that made me want to do more. I painted a mean tree! (grrrr)

And purchased two Christmas presents, in addition to the massive quantities I've been ordering from Amazon. Thank god for their used stuff, I'm telling you. I actually am getting into the gift thing, getting a few more ideas. Ginger's always hard to shop for though, don't know what to do about her.

We hurried back to town to see a former ensemble member do Santaland Diaries at this fun coffeeshop space in town. (Also featuring a couple voiceovers by yours truly!) It was his final dress/preview, and very funny. David Sedaris is fantastic, and it works pretty well as a theater piece.

I have things to say about "Angels in America", but that'll have to wait. I'm off to see Love, Actually with my roommate. I'm not one for romantic comedies in general, but I think this'll be worth it. So many fabulous people - Alan Rickman!! (drool)
