Call your momma

Ack! Just wrote a nice long entry and lost it. Again.

Happy Mother's Day

My back and ankle are both better. Not perfect, but better. Two nights ago I took a muscle relaxer for the lower back spasms and had the WEIRDEST dreams ever. There was this woman trying to kill me, and the only way to survive was to kill her first. But I had to use this big ol' knife to do it. I remember having a really hard time using it, even though I'd already been almost killed myself. I definitely dream in color, cause I remember red. Ugh. This is unusual, I promise. I don't generally dream of such violence. What does it mean??? Is it one of those "death of my old self" things? I dunno. The whole thing had a slightly "Kill Bill"-ish visual feel to it, so maybe I've just been watching too much Tarantino lately (saw Reservoir Dogs for the first time last week)

Anyway, after that pleasant pick-me-up...

I went to Knoebel's amusement park with Will yesterday, for a couple hours. As a member of the local public radio station, he and a friend (me!) got to ride free all day. This park is unusual in that you always get in free, and then pay for rides individually with tickets. I like that - it means you don't have to go for an entire day to make it worth it, and you could even go just to people-watch (a worthwhile adventure around here, I can tell ya) if you have no money. So anyway, we rode the two big wooden rollercoasters, and they ROCKED. Man I love that stuff. Lots of hang time, plenty of screams. And I hadn't been on one in over a year and a half (since I was in DisneyWorld on tour in 2002). We also rode the "Power Surge", which is one of those hanging-high-in-the-air-twirling-around-in-a-chair- with-only-a-hard-rubber-over-the-shoulder-harness- thingy-to-hold-you-in kinda deals. It was one of the scariest rides I've ever been on. Great fun.

I also saw the most spectacular mullet I've ever seen. A mom, redhead, literally looked like two different haircuts in one, and clearly she took her time styling it every morn. That's central PA for ya, folks. Also ran into a couple kids who'd seen us on tour, and a guy with a thick Southern accent who lives less than an hour from Jeremy's home. Pretty random.

I'm off to call my momma and go to the show...
