Fun times were had, and they got to see some fun outdoorsy stuff around here - including my fave, Angel Oak. It's a 1400 year old oak tree about 20 minutes outside of Charleston. Amazing. HUGE. Old. The oldest living thing I've ever seen, I suppose. Only two more performances of this show, and then I get to focus completely on Christmas Carol for a week or two. Our first tech is a week from today! Oy! I'm not as busy lately, but I'm just worn out. We all seem a bit groggy these days... 5 1/2 months to go. Almost halfway there. I'm frustrated by trying to figure out my Christmas/New Years plans. I'm definitely flying out of Charlotte and going to Colorado for Christmas, but beyond that I don't know. The Chicaqo for New Years thing might just be too complicated and expensive. If that doesn't work out, I might get to see Will (co-intern from last year) in Virginia, which would involve a good bit of driving but could be fun. I miss Bloomsburg and nearly everything about it so much - and I had no idea that would happen. Brad was here for a week a while ago - I think I may have mentioned it. Good to see an old friend, even though I was really busy. Fortunately new buddy Ryan was able to entertain him for much of the time. After seeing Inspector Calls (the one I'm about to finish), Brad gave me one of the most helpful notes I'd received in the entire rehearsal/performance process. Funny that. The show's certainly gotten better, and the audiences really do seem to enjoy it. My folks were very positive about it, of course. So I guess it's something of a success. I'm just feeling a bit stale. At least Charleston's freaking gorgeous in November. 65 and sunny, anyone? It could be worse. |
