Watching the Nenana River (which runs behind the Princess Lodge property, and all along the road between work and home) change from a gentle flow to a Class IV rafting river! 2. Watching the snow melt - the mountains right across from my home look a lot different than they did 2 weeks ago! 3. Hiking in the cool crisp spring air. I took my first jaunt into the national park today, with a short (hour-long) hike around Horseshoe Lake. It was drizzling and not warm, but still lovely. I'd been waiting for that for 2 weeks! The gentle rain on the glassy lake was beautiful. 4. A mellow start to the tourist season, easing us into the whole thing. 5. 5 moose sightings on the drive to Fairbanks last week! I heart the wilderness! |
